Using the Convection Rack in Your Amana Microwave
The convection rack provides optimal heat circulation for convection cooking and comes with some Amana microwaves. The rack is designed specifically for this type of microwave oven. For best cooking results, do not attempt to use any other rack in this type of microwave oven.
IMPORTANT: REMOVE the metal rack during standard Microwave cooking cycles. Metal racks used during regular microwave cycles cause arcing (sparking), which can burn the microwave walls and permanently damage the unit. ONLY use the rack during Convection, Bake, Roast, or Grill cycles.

Using the Convection Tray
- Place the convection rack in the center of the glass turntable. Ensure the metal legs do not touch the stainless steel walls, door, or back cavity of the microwave.
- Place your heat-safe cookware (oven-safe glass, ceramic, or metal baking pans) directly onto the center of the rack. Leave space around the pan for air to circulate freely.
- Choose Convection, Bake, or Roast on your control panel. Set your desired temperature and timer, then press Start.
Convection Tray Tips
- Always use the turntable.
- To avoid damage to the microwave oven, do not allow the rack to touch the inside cavity walls, ceiling, or floor.
- For best results, do not place popcorn bags on the rack.
- The rack will become hot. Always use oven mitts or pot holders when handling.
