Removing Protective Tape from Range

How to Remove Project Film on Amana Ranges

Welcome to our detailed guide on how to remove the protective film on Amana ranges. This plastic protective film is crucial for protecting your appliance from scratches and damage during shipping and installation. Once your range is ready for use in your kitchen, it's essential to remove the protective plastic film to ensure optimal performance and maintain its appearance. This guide explains the purpose of the appliance protective film, provides step-by-step removal instructions, and offers tips for aftercare and maintenance of your Amana range, ensuring it remains efficient and attractive.

Understanding Protective Plastic Film

The protective plastic film on your Amana range serves to shield its surfaces from scratches, dust, and debris during manufacturing, shipping, and installation. This thin, transparent layer ensures your range arrives in top condition, free from minor damage. They adhere gently to the surface, providing a reliable protective layer.

Removing protective film from range appliances after installation is crucial. If left on, it can bond more strongly with the surface due to heat and moisture, making removal difficult and possibly damaging the finish. To ensure your Amana range operates correctly and maintains its sleek appearance, remove the plastic protective film before first use.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Hard-to-Remove Plastic Protective Film

Use this guide to safely remove the protective film from your Amana range, gather a soft microfiber cloth, a plastic scraper, and packing tape. These will help ensure a gentle yet effective removal process. Locate areas with the appliance protective film, such as the control panel, oven door, and any stainless steel or glass surfaces. Start by gently lifting a corner of the film with your fingers or the scraper, taking care not to scratch the surface.

Step for Removal

  1. Remove all the burner knobs from the front of the range.
