Step-by-Step Cooktop Light Replacement
NOTE: There may be one (1) or two (2) bulbs depending on model.
- Unplug or disconnect the power from the microwave.
- Locate the cooktop/vent light bulb, which is located on the underside of the microwave oven.
- Remove the bulb cover screw, and open the bulb cover.
- Remove the bulb.
- Replace the bulb with an incandescent bulb, close the bulb cover, and secure it with a screw.
IMPORTANT: Use only an incandescent light bulb as a replacement. Do not use an LED light bulb.
What to Do If the New Light Still Won't Turn On
If your new light bulb fails to illuminate after installation:
- Check Socket Seating: Ensure the bulb is screwed completely into the socket.
- Test Control Panel Settings: Press the surface light button multiple times to toggle through high, low, and off settings.
- Inspect Home Circuit Breaker: Verify the circuit breaker did not trip during power restoration.
