How to replace the oven light

Refer to the Use and Care Guide for specific information, especially the wattage of halogen bulbs.

Standard Appliance Bulb(certain models):

  • The oven light is a standard 40-watt appliance bulb.
  • Before replacing, make sure the oven (and cooktop if so equipped) is cool and all controls are in the Off position.

To Replace:

1. Power the unit down by turning off the circuit breaker(s) or removing fuse(s).

2. Turn the glass bulb cover in the back of the oven counterclockwise to remove.

3. Turn bulb counterclockwise to remove from socket.

4. Replace bulb by turning clockwise.

5. Replace bulb cover by turning clockwise.

6. Power unit up by turning on the circuit breaker(s) or installing the fuse(s).

 

Halogen Bulb(certain models):

  • Refer to the Use and Care Guide for specific information, especially the wattage of halogen bulbs.
  • Before replacing, make sure the oven (and cooktop if so equipped) is cool and all controls are in the Off position.

To Replace:

1. Power the unit down by turning off the circuit breaker(s) or removing fuse(s).

2. Remove glass light cover by grasping the front edge and pulling away from oven.

3. Remove bulb from socket.

4. Replace bulb, using tissue or wearing cotton gloves to handle bulb.

  • To avoid damage or decreasing the life of the new bulb, do not touch bulb with bare fingers.

5. Replace bulb cover by snapping back into wall.

6. Power unit up by turning on the circuit breaker(s) or installing the fuse(s).
