How to remove and replace the oven light

 

Refer to your Use and Care Guide for specific information, especially concerning the wattage of halogen bulbs.

How to remove and replace Standard Appliance Bulb (certain models):

  • The oven light is a standard 40-watt appliance bulb.
  • Before replacing, make sure the oven (and cooktop, if so equipped) is cool and that all controls are in the "Off" position.

To Replace:

1. Disconnect power from the unit by turning off the circuit breaker(s) or removing fuse(s).

2. Turn the glass bulb cover in the back of the oven counterclockwise to remove.

3. Turn bulb counterclockwise to remove from socket.

4. Replace bulb by turning clockwise.

5. Replace bulb cover by turning clockwise.

6. Reconnect power to the unit by turning on the circuit breaker(s) or installing the fuse(s).

 

How to remove and replace Halogen Bulb (certain models):

  • Refer to your Use and Care Guide for specific information regarding the wattage of your halogen bulbs.
  • Before replacing, make sure the oven (and cooktop, if so equipped) is cool and that all controls are in the "Off" position.

To Replace:

1. Disconnect power to the unit by turning off the circuit breaker(s) or removing fuse(s).

2. Remove glass light cover by grasping the front edge and pulling away from the oven.

3. Remove bulb from socket.

4. Replace bulb, using tissue or wearing cotton gloves to handle bulb.

  • To avoid damage or decreasing the life of the new bulb, do not touch bulb with bare fingers.

5. Replace bulb cover by snapping back into wall.

6. Reconnect power to the unit by turning on the circuit breaker(s) or installing the fuse(s).
